Privacy policy

What we collect when you write to us, why, and how we look after it.

Last updated: 26 October 2026

The Kunene’s (“we”, “us”) is the website of Dr. Musa and Mrs. Prudence Kunene, missionaries of the Church of the Nazarene. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 and good practice. This page explains what the website does with it.

What we collect

  • Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), subject and message.
  • Invitation form: your name, church, role, email, phone, city, preferred dates and message.
  • Email updates: your email address, and the time you confirmed it.
  • Technical details: your IP address is stored with the forms above and used to prevent spam and abuse. Our web host also keeps standard server logs.

We do not ask for payment or card details. Giving happens on the official Church of the Nazarene giving page, which has its own privacy policy.

Why we use it

  • To read and reply to your message or invitation.
  • To send the updates you asked for, only after you confirm your email address.
  • To keep the website secure and free from spam.

We rely on your consent, which you give by submitting a form. We never sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

Only the Kunene family and the people they authorise to manage this website can read messages. Information is processed by the services that run the site, such as our web hosting and email provider, and a spam-protection service if it is switched on. They may process it only to provide those services. We share it with others only if the law requires it.

Cookies

The website uses one small session cookie that keeps forms secure and shows you confirmation messages. It does not track you across other sites. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep messages and invitations for as long as we need them to respond and to keep a record of the conversation, and then delete them. You can stay on the email list until you unsubscribe; every email contains an unsubscribe link and your address is then removed.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS, forms are protected against forgery and spam, and the admin area needs a password. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care.

Your rights

You may ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, stop using it, or withdraw your consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya (odpc.go.ke (opens in a new tab)).

Changes
